Kranjska Gora is a renowned resort, embraced by the Julian Alps, offering entertainment, sport and recreation throughout the year.
The picturesque Kranjska Gora lies in the immediate vicinity of the three borders between Slovenia, Austria and Italy.
Due to its altitude (810 m above sea level), fresh mountain air and numerous sunny days it has been known since the antique times as the unique climate health resort.
Location
In spite of its position, it is still very easy to reach. There are four airports (Ljubljana, Klagenfurt, Trieste and Venice) near Kranjska Gora.
The most distant one is only two hours and a half drive away (Venice).
Here every season has its unique face and charm, attracting numerous visitors from near and far places.
Winter
The main winter offer comprises various ski slopes, which are adjusted to the beginners, experienced skiers and snowboarders. The ski slopes spread from Kranjska Gora to Planica, ranging from 800 to 1,215 m above sea level, which are connected with a system of 5 chair lifts and 13 cable railways.
There are 40 km of trails for cross-country skiing and an ice rink in the town centre.
Spring, summer and autumn
In the summertime, Kranjska Gora with its colourful events becomes an excellent starting point for various sports and adrenaline activities or just a place to share good company and relax.
It offers the possibility of beautiful walks around the Alpine forests and surrounding mountains; the entire net of mountain trails features almost 150 kilometres of paths, with almost 200 kilometres of marked and well-maintained bike paths intended also for the roller skating enthusiasts.
Kranjska Gora is renowned worldwide for its international sports events, such as the Vitranc Cup – Alpine Skiing World Cup, the Ski Jumping World Cup and Cross Country World Cup Planica.
The Nordic Centre Planica is an exceptional environment for continuing the Slovenian tradition of sky jumping and flying, as well as for cross-country training and competing.

Zelenci natural reserve
The Zelenci Lake can be discovered immediately after the village of Podkoren on the southern side of the main road.

The Russian Chapel
