Šmorn, pony bike and a new record

If you have heard the jingling sound of retro bicycle bells and huron cheering last weekend in Kranjska Gora – you weren't dreaming! The event revolved around the 10th edition of the legendary Red Bull Goni Pony race, which once again took over our beautiful valley this year. Before and after the climb to Vršič pass, a variety of events took place right at our event venue between the Ramada Resort and Hotel Kompas hotels.

And because we know that for a serious climb to Vršič with a Pony bike, not only good will and colorful leggings are enough, but also an excellent catering offer. That's why we prepared and offered special "fuel" - schmorn, burger, hot dog and drink for all the brave pedalers and their persistent fans.

Our snacks apparently worked better than the energy drink, as a new course record was set! So yes, it's entirely possible that we helped set milestones with our sweet and salty drive 😉

More than 1,600 competitors took on a 13.5 km long route with an 801 m elevation gain – all wearing flip-flops, skirts, pineapple-shaped helmets, 80s leggings, Tito's pioneer clothes and any other retro outfit you could find. An event that is not only sporty, but also fashionable, loud and… above all, unforgettable!

We are proud to have been a part of this crazy, inspiring, slightly hilly and very relaxed event for many years. And every time we prove again that we are not only great hosts, but also the right partners for the right energy.
