Fewer steps, more stories

Not every day of your holiday has to be packed with action! When you're escaping the rain, when the ski slopes are closed due to lack of snow, or when your legs are still pleasantly tired from yesterday’s cycling adventure, it’s the perfect excuse for a different kind of exploration. Give your mind a workout by visiting museums, discover local culture, catch the authentic village vibe, or head to a concert, lecture, or cinema. No matter the season: a holiday is not only about being active, but also about enjoying in stories and heritage.

Tonka's cooking workshops: traditional štruklji

When Ms Tonka isn’t running a marathon or training for her next trail race, she’s almost certainly cooking! With 35 years of experience working at mountain huts, she knows a thing or two about good food. She’ll guide you through the secrets of making the perfect dough and filling, while you follow her every step – right up to the moment when you can take your freshly cooked štruklji home. There, they can be put to the ultimate test by the most demanding critics of all: your loved ones. All the ingredients are taken care of – just bring your nimble hands and a little curiosity!

PLANINSKI MUZEJ MOJSTRANA4 (1)

Slovenian Alpine Museum

Slovenian Alpine Museum is no ordinary museum – it offers an exhibition experience like a personal ascent to a mountain. Those seeking adventure can try the “Escape into a bivouac” challenge. You can also see and hear what the legendary “dvojka” looked like from the inside and how climbers experienced it – even without the adventure itself. You will be amazed by the virtual view from its original location below Rokavi and from thirty other Slovenian peaks. Haven’t been to Triglav yet? A virtual walk to our highest peak is also available.
